This Privacy Policy describes how Ridgeline Life (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) handles information when you use our Android application. Ridgeline Life is an offline-first personal life hub. We do not operate servers that store your personal content.
Summary: Your tasks, habits, journal, goals, and other data stay on your device. We do not sell your data. We do not run advertising SDKs in the current release.
1. Information we collect
Ridgeline Life is designed to minimize data collection. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not collect your name, email address, or phone number through the app itself.
Information you enter in the app may include, for example:
- Tasks, habits, spending records, and journal entries
- Goals, key results, anniversaries, and timeline activity
- Water intake and focus-timer (Pomodoro) logs
- Optional vault entries (encrypted locally)
This information is stored locally in an on-device database
(ridgeline.db) unless you choose to export an encrypted backup file.
2. How we use information
Data you enter is used only to provide app features on your device—for example, showing your dashboard, life timeline, reminders, and progress. We do not use your content for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.
3. Data storage and security
All core app data remains on your phone or tablet. Uninstalling the app removes this data from the device unless you have saved an encrypted backup elsewhere.
Android system backup for this app is disabled in the manifest to reduce accidental cloud copies; we recommend using the in-app encrypted backup feature if you want a portable copy under your control.
4. Vault (encrypted entries)
If you enable the Vault, sensitive entries are encrypted on-device using a passphrase you choose. Encryption keys are derived from your passphrase; we cannot access, reset, or recover your passphrase or vault contents. If you forget your passphrase, vault data cannot be restored.
5. Backup and restore
When you export a backup, the app creates an encrypted file that you save to a location you select (for example, local storage or a cloud drive you control). We do not receive or host backup files. Importing a backup is likewise performed entirely on your device.
6. Network and internet access
Ridgeline Life does not require an internet connection for core features. The app does not routinely transmit your personal content to our servers because we do not operate content servers for this product.
If you open external links (for example, this privacy policy in a browser), your browser or network provider may process that request under their own policies.
7. Third-party services
The current release does not integrate advertising SDKs or third-party analytics SDKs that collect personal content from within the app.
Google Play (or other stores) may collect limited technical or purchase-related information when you download or update the app, as described in their respective privacy policies.
8. Children’s privacy
Ridgeline Life is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us and we will assist with removal on the device.
9. Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. Because data is stored locally, you can:
- View, edit, or delete entries within the app
- Export or delete encrypted backup files you created
- Uninstall the app to remove on-device data
10. Data retention
Data persists on your device until you delete it in the app, clear app storage, or uninstall the application. Backup files you create are retained until you delete them.
11. International users
The app is offered globally. Because processing occurs on your device, your data generally does not leave your device except when you voluntarily copy a backup file to another location.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect the latest version. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. Material changes may also be noted in the app or store listing where appropriate.
